What this helps you do
Compare your recorded WhatsApp and email activity by campaign, then save or download the report.
Before you start
Select the store you want to check. You need permission to view reports. This report reads existing message records; running it does not send a message.
Steps
- Open Analytics → Reports.
- Select Search reports and enter Message campaign activity.
- Open Message campaign activity.
- Choose your dates above the report.
- Select Run query.
The dates select when recipients were added to a campaign, using India dates. The figures show those recipients' recorded activity so far. A recipient added on Monday and opened on Wednesday belongs to Monday's group. This is not a count of messages opened during the selected dates.
Read the figures
- Recipient attempts counts stored recipient records. Sending another WhatsApp campaign attempt to the same person creates another attempt; this is not a count of unique people.
- Recorded sends counts attempts with a recorded send time.
- WhatsApp recorded deliveries counts WhatsApp attempts with a recorded delivery time.
- WhatsApp recorded reads counts WhatsApp attempts with a recorded read time.
- Email recorded opens counts email recipients with a recorded open time. Opening the same message several times does not increase this figure.
Zero means no matching activity is recorded. It does not prove that a message was never delivered, read or opened. An open or delivery does not fill in a missing send record. A campaign without stored recipients has no row.
The report includes stored campaigns from earlier WhatsApp connections. The WhatsApp campaign list can show only the current connection, so its campaign count can differ from this historical report. Campaigns with the same name stay separate behind the scenes. Charts and grouped headings add a small number, such as Test (1) and Test (2). Select a campaign name to open its page. A campaign from an older WhatsApp connection may no longer open; the report explains this and keeps its recorded activity visible.
These message figures are separate from website visits and sales. For visits and sales linked to recorded campaign tags, use Marketing performance by campaign. Message reads, opens and delivery counts are not substituted for orders, sales or advertising clicks.
Change, save and download
Use Metrics, Dimensions, Filters and Table options to change the report. Add Recipient added date under Dimensions to group by the selected day, week or month.
Select Run query after changing controls. Select Save to keep a copy, then reopen it from Reports. Reopening and running fetches current recorded activity; it does not freeze message status at the time you saved.
Select Export → CSV to download the displayed rows. When the report has more matching rows than the preview limit, use its option to export all matching rows. Summary covers all matching recipient attempts even when the preview shows fewer rows.
Drag the edge of a column heading to make it wider. You can also rest on a heading to read its full name. On a phone, drag the edge with your finger.
On a phone, the same controls and buttons are available. Scroll within the report table to read columns that do not fit on the screen.
What happens next
The table and chart show the activity matching your dates and filters. Your saved copy appears in Reports; running it again fetches the latest recorded activity.
Common problems
- No rows: Check the store and the dates when recipients were added. A campaign without stored recipients has no row.
- Figures changed after reopening: Message activity can arrive later. Run query fetches the current records.
- Some columns are hidden: Scroll within the table, especially on a phone.
