What this helps you do

Let customers visit your online store through an address you own, such as www.example.com.

Before you start

Publish an online store and own the domain. You need access to the domain registrar and Cloudflare DNS, plus permission to manage custom domains.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Store.
  2. Select Setup Guide and complete its Cloudflare steps.
  3. Add the domain to Cloudflare and choose its free plan.
  4. Add CNAME records for www and @, both pointing to stores.upstorr.com, with Cloudflare proxy enabled.
  5. Replace the registrar's nameservers with the two nameservers Cloudflare gives you. Turn DNSSEC off before changing them; it can be enabled again in Cloudflare afterward.
  6. Return to Upstorr and select + Add Domain.
  7. When asked, choose the correct store and enter only the domain, such as example.com.
  8. Select Connect.
  9. Use the domain menu and Verify Connection while it is pending.
  10. Open the domain from the list and test the storefront.

Understand the fields and statuses

  • Link to Store: which published storefront will use the domain. This appears when more than one is available.
  • Domain: the web address only. Do not enter a page path or unrelated text.
  • Connected: DNS and the secure certificate are ready.
  • Pending: Upstorr is still waiting for DNS or provider setup.
  • Invalid DNS: the required DNS records do not point to Upstorr correctly.
  • SSL Pending: DNS is recognised, but the secure HTTPS certificate is still being prepared.
  • Failed: setup could not complete; read the shown verification error.

The default .upstorr.com address stays connected and cannot be removed from the domain list.

Understand the DNS steps

A registrar is where the domain was bought. Cloudflare becomes the place that answers where that domain should go. The CNAME records point both the root domain and www version to Upstorr.

Nameserver changes can take 24 to 48 hours. During that time, Pending does not automatically mean you entered something wrong. Do not repeatedly disconnect and reconnect while the internet is still updating.

Disconnect a domain

Open the custom domain's menu and choose Disconnect Domain. For an unfinished setup, the label is Cancel Setup. Confirming removes that custom domain from the store, so customer links using it stop reaching this storefront.

What happens next

Once Connected, HTTPS traffic for that address reaches the chosen Upstorr storefront. The domain row stays available for opening, checking, or disconnecting later.

Common problems

  • Connect stays disabled: Enter a valid bare domain and make sure a published storefront exists.
  • Invalid DNS remains: Recheck both CNAME names, the exact target, and Cloudflare proxy state.
  • SSL Pending remains: Leave the DNS records in place and allow certificate setup time.
  • Cloudflare says nameservers are wrong: Change them at the registrar, not inside Upstorr.
  • The wrong store opens: Disconnect the domain from the wrong storefront and connect it to the intended one.
