Prepare Upstorr for selling face to face from a permanent counter or a temporary exhibition.

Before you start

Install the Upstorr POS app on the phone or tablet you will use. In Admin, create the inventory locations, markets, and staff permissions needed for that place.

Steps

For a permanent shop counter:

  1. Create an Outlet linked to an Indian inventory location and a market.
  2. Create a Register inside that outlet.
  3. Add a POS device and assign it to the outlet and register.
  4. Generate a pair code in Admin.
  5. Enter the code in the POS app.
  6. Sign in as an allowed staff member and start the register's cash session when accepting cash.

For a temporary event:

  1. Create an Exhibit with its venue, dates, default inventory source, and market.
  2. Add a POS device in Exhibit device mode.
  3. Pair it with the POS app.
  4. Staff choose the active venue inside the app when they arrive.

What happens next

In-person orders, payments, cash sessions, devices, and sales reports stay connected to the chosen place and staff member.

Common problems

  • A setup page is hidden: the staff role needs the matching POS permission.
  • An outlet has no inventory choice: create an Indian inventory location first.
  • A register cannot be selected for a device: select its outlet before selecting the register.
  • The pair code expired: generate another code in Admin.
