What this means
These optional fields make products easier to group, find, recommend, and share.
Vendor
The vendor is the brand, maker, or supplier connected to a product. For example, use your own brand name for products you make, or the supplier name for products you resell.
Collections
A collection is a customer-facing group of products. Examples include “New arrivals”, “Festive jewellery”, or “Under ₹1,000”. One product can be included in more than one collection.
Tags
Tags are flexible labels used to organise and filter products inside Upstorr. Examples include “summer”, “handmade”, or “clearance”. You can select saved tags or create a new tag while editing the product.
Complementary products
These are products that pair well with the current product. They can be shown together on the product page and suggested in Point of Sale.
For example, add matching earrings as a complementary product for a necklace. This field appears after the main product has been saved.
Page title
This is the product title shown to search engines. Keep it clear and useful. Upstorr recommends about 50 to 60 characters. When it is blank, the product title is used as the preview.
URL handle
This is the final readable part of the product’s web address. For example, the handle blue-cotton-kurta creates an address ending in /products/blue-cotton-kurta.
Upstorr creates a unique handle from the title when needed. Use short lowercase words separated by hyphens.
Simple example
For a handmade necklace:
- Vendor: Your jewellery brand
- Collections: Wedding jewellery and New arrivals
- Tags: handmade, gold-tone, necklace
- Complementary products: Matching earrings
- Page title: Handmade Gold-Tone Wedding Necklace
- URL handle: handmade-gold-wedding-necklace
What you need to know
- Vendor, collections, and tags help with different jobs. A vendor identifies who made or supplied the product, a collection groups products for customers, and tags add flexible internal labels.
- Removing a tag or vendor from its picker can affect other products that use it. Remove it from only this product when you merely want to change this product.
- You can add up to 100 complementary products, but a short, relevant list is easier for customers.
- Search engines decide what they finally display. The preview shows how the listing might look, not a guarantee.
- Changing a URL handle changes the product address. Avoid changing it after sharing the old address unless necessary.
