Create a blog container, then add customer-facing posts inside it.

Before you start

A blog is a collection such as “News” or “Buying guides.” A blog post is one article inside that collection.

Steps

  1. Open Online Store → Blogs and create a blog.
  2. Enter its title, URL handle, search listing fields, and comment choice.
  3. Save the blog.
  4. Open Blog posts and select Add blog post.
  5. Add the title, content, excerpt, image, author, blog, tags, and search listing.
  6. Save the post.
  7. Add the blog to the theme and navigation when customers should see it.

Comments

  • Disabled: customers cannot submit comments.
  • Allowed, pending moderation: submitted comments wait for approval before they can appear.
  • Allowed: comments are allowed without that pending-moderation setting.

Excerpt

This is a short summary used by supported home-page or blog layouts. If the search description is blank, the blog-post search preview uses the excerpt. The excerpt can contain up to 2,000 characters.

Blog image

This is the post's main image used by supported theme sections and article layouts. It is different from images inserted inside the written content.

Author

This is the name displayed as the writer when the theme supports it. It does not create a staff account or change permissions.

Blog

This required field chooses which blog collection contains the post. Moving a post means selecting a different blog.

Tags

Comma-separated labels used to organise posts, such as News, Guide. Their customer-facing use depends on the active theme.

URL handle and search listing

The blog handle creates a path such as /blogs/news. The post handle creates the final part, such as /blogs/news/summer-sale. Page title and search description are search-engine fields, just like normal Online Store pages.

Find or delete blogs and posts

Use search and sorting on the Blog posts or Manage blogs list to find content. Select a row to edit it.

Blog posts can be selected and permanently deleted together. This removes them from the online store and cannot be undone. A blog can be selected for deletion only when it contains no posts; move or delete its posts first. When a selected record changed after the list loaded, Upstorr can protect it while deleting the unchanged selections.

What happens next

The blog and post exist as Online Store content. Add the blog to the theme's editable pages or link it from a menu so customers can reach it.

Common problems

  • A blog cannot be deleted: move or delete all of its posts first.
  • A post cannot be saved: select a blog and provide a title and URL handle.
  • The post is saved but not visible in navigation: add the blog to the theme and a storefront menu.
