What this means
Retail storefront prices controls how GST is presented to customers on your online store.
Tax inclusive
The displayed selling price already contains GST. This is the default setting.
Tax exclusive
The displayed selling price does not contain GST. GST is calculated separately using the product's tax settings.
This setting affects your storefront. It does not change Upstorr subscription-plan invoices.
Simple example
A product is entered at ₹1,180 and its GST rate is 18%.
- With Tax inclusive, ₹1,180 is treated as the customer-facing price that already contains GST.
- With Tax exclusive, GST is added to the entered price, so the amount after 18% GST becomes ₹1,392.40.
What you need to know
- This is a store-wide presentation choice for retail storefront prices.
- Each taxable product still needs the correct GST classification, HSN/SAC code, and rate.
- Changing the presentation can change what a customer pays. Review the storefront and checkout after saving it.
- Ask your accountant which presentation is appropriate for your business and advertised prices.
