What this means

One campaign can have multiple numbered Broadcasts. Each broadcast records one sending attempt and its recipients.

  • Recipients: people included in that broadcast.
  • Sent: Meta accepted the message for sending.
  • Delivered: WhatsApp reported delivery to the recipient.
  • Read receipts: WhatsApp reported that it was read. This is only available when the customer has WhatsApp read receipts enabled.
  • Failed: the message could not be sent; the recipient row can show the reason.

Campaign or broadcast statuses include Draft, Scheduled, Sending, Sent, Partially sent, Failed, No recipients, Paused, and Cancelled.

Simple example

A broadcast has 100 recipients: 98 Sent, 94 Delivered, 60 Read, and 2 Failed. This does not mean 38 messages vanished. Sent, Delivered, and Read describe later stages for the same recipients, while Failed records messages that did not send successfully.

What you need to know

  • The WhatsApp campaigns page shows quick totals for Draft, Scheduled, Sending, Sent, and Failed campaigns.
  • Each list row shows the campaign name, creation date, status, audience, template and language, scheduled time, and sent time. Select the row to open it.
  • Search finds a campaign by its name. Sort can arrange the list by campaign name, status, or creation date.
  • Partially sent means at least some recipients succeeded and some failed.
  • No recipients means nobody passed the final audience check.
  • Open a Broadcast row to see individual phone numbers, delivery status, sent time, and error.
  • Read counts are not complete when customers disable read receipts.
  • Staff with campaign-management permission can select one or more campaigns and delete them together. Deleting a WhatsApp campaign also removes its delivery history, so do it only when that history is no longer needed.
  • A campaign that changed in another tab or is currently sending can be protected from deletion. Upstorr refreshes the list and leaves campaigns it could not delete selected.
