What this helps you do
Find an existing collection, understand how its products are chosen, open it for editing, or permanently remove it.
Before you start
Staff need collection-management permission to add, edit, select, or delete collections.
Steps
- Open Products, then Collections.
- Read each row:
- Name: the collection's saved name.
- Type: Manual means staff choose the exact products. Smart means saved rules choose matching products automatically.
- Description: a short preview of the collection's saved description.
- Use Search to find a collection by its name or type.
- Use Sort to arrange the list by name or type.
- Select a row to open and edit that collection.
- To delete collections, select their checkboxes and choose Delete.
- Read the warning and confirm only when the chosen collections are no longer needed.
You can select up to 100 collections for one deletion.
What happens next
Deleted collections disappear from the collection list and cannot be restored. Their products remain in Upstorr; only the grouping is removed.
If a selected collection was already removed elsewhere, Upstorr can report that it was already gone instead of pretending it was deleted twice.
Common problems
- Delete is unavailable: your staff role may not include collection-management permission, or the list is still loading.
- Only 100 collections stay selected: one deletion is limited to 100 collections. Delete that group before selecting another.
- A product still exists after deleting its collection: this is expected. Deleting a collection removes the group, not its products.
- More rows did not load: use the Retry option shown at the bottom of the list.
