What this helps you do

Use quantity tracking when you want Upstorr to know how many pieces of a physical product are available at each place where you keep stock.

Before you start

  • Add your inventory locations first.
  • Count the pieces available at each location.
  • Your staff role must allow you to manage inventory. Otherwise, quantities are shown as read-only.

Steps

  1. Open Products in the Upstorr admin.
  2. Open the product you want to update, or select Add product.
  3. Find the Inventory section.
  4. Keep Track quantity selected.
  5. Under Quantity by location, enter the number of pieces currently available at each location.
  6. Leave Continue selling when out of stock clear if you want sales to stop when the available quantity reaches zero.
  7. Select Save.

What happens next

Upstorr keeps a separate quantity for every inventory location. When Track quantity is off, the product is treated as always in stock.

If Continue selling when out of stock is selected, customers can still buy the physical product when its quantity is zero.

Common problems

  • The quantities cannot be changed: Your staff role can view products but cannot manage inventory. Ask the store owner to check your role.
  • The Inventory section is missing: Services and digital products do not use normal product stock.
  • The product still sells at zero: Open the product and clear Continue selling when out of stock.
