What this means
Booking offer fields decide when customers may book, how much of the offer they may reserve, what must be available, and what happens after the booking.
Simple example
A class lasts 60 minutes, holds 8 people, allows each customer to reserve at most 2 places, needs 12 hours' notice, and blocks 15 minutes after each class for cleanup.
What you need to know
Booking rules
- Duration (minutes): how long one booking lasts. A 60-minute booking starting at 10:00 ends at 11:00. It must be a whole number from 1 to 1,440.
- Capacity per slot: the total quantity that all customers together may reserve in the same slot. It appears when capacity belongs to the offer and accepts 1 to 10,000.
- Capacity comes from product inventory: physical bookable products use their available stock instead. Change the product's inventory to change how many units can be booked at once.
- Maximum quantity per booking: the most units one customer can reserve in one booking. It must be 1 to 10,000 and cannot be greater than an offer's capacity.
- Maximum upcoming bookings per customer: the most future bookings the same customer may hold for this offer. Leave it empty for no limit.
- Minimum notice (hours): blocks last-minute bookings. Enter 24 when a customer must book at least one day before the slot. It accepts 0 to 8,760 hours.
- Booking window (days): how far ahead customers can book. Enter 30 to hide slots more than 30 days away. The offer form requires at least 1 day and the platform supports up to 730 days.
- Buffer before: extra unavailable time before a booking. A 10:00 booking with a 15-minute buffer also blocks 9:45–10:00.
- Buffer after: extra unavailable time after a booking. A booking ending at 11:00 with a 15-minute buffer also blocks 11:00–11:15.
Buffers protect preparation, cleaning, or travel time. They do not make the customer's booked service longer.
Required resources
Choose every person, room, space, or item that must be available. A paused resource makes linked website slots unavailable. You can leave this empty when the offer needs no separately managed resource.
Completion and attendance
- Complete automatically: Upstorr closes the booking after its end time. This is the normal default for a Service.
- Complete manually: a staff member closes it after the work or rental return is finished. This is the normal default for a Physical product.
- No-show grace period: how long after the start time staff wait before recording a no-show. It accepts 0 to 1,440 minutes.
Security deposit
- Collect a refundable security deposit: adds a separately tracked deposit to the booking payment.
- Deposit amount: the deposit, not the product price. It must be greater than zero when deposits are on and may have at most two decimal places.
- Once per booking: charge the deposit once, even if the customer books more than one unit.
- For each unit booked: multiply the deposit by the booked quantity. A ₹500 deposit with 3 units becomes ₹1,500.
- Deposit terms: explain when money is returned or kept. You can enter up to 4,000 characters.
Upstorr checks that the largest possible deposit for one booking stays within its safe payment limit. If a per-unit deposit fails to save, reduce the deposit or the maximum quantity.
