What this helps you do
Keep unfinished work private and publish only the design you have checked.
Before you start
Check the correct theme and page in the top bar. Test the important pages in desktop and mobile preview sizes.
Steps
- Make your changes and look for the Unsaved badge.
- Use Undo or Redo if you need to correct the latest editor actions.
- Select Save. Wait for the save to finish.
- Recheck the preview. Saving does not change the public storefront.
- Select Publish.
- Read the confirmation explaining that the saved draft will become live.
- Confirm Publish and wait for the success message.
Publish first makes sure the current draft is saved. It then creates one published design version and points the live storefront to it.
What happens next
Customers receive the published design. Any edit made after the publishing request started can remain unsaved; Upstorr shows this instead of pretending the newer edit was published.
Common problems
- “Newer theme changes are available”: another tab or person saved a newer draft.
- Reload latest version: use this when your tab has no unsaved work. It loads the current saved draft.
- Review unsaved work: keeps your tab open so you can inspect your changes.
- Combine with latest: tries to keep your unsaved work while adding newer saved changes.
- Combine saved changes after conflicts: saved values win only for settings that conflict; your other changes stay unsaved.
- Publish reports newer edits: press Save again, review, and publish again.
Do not open several editor tabs for the same theme unless you truly need them. It makes conflicting edits much easier to create.
