What this means

Open Settings and find Return transportation. It decides which rider methods are allowed to bring approved returns back to your store.

What you need to know

Customer returns and rental returns

  • Customer returns: ordinary products that a customer asks to return.
  • Rental returns: rented items that must come back after the booking.

Each kind has two independent choices:

  • My own rider: you arrange the pickup and update its progress in the order.
  • Automated rider: Upstorr can arrange the pickup through the connected delivery provider.

You can enable one method or both for each kind. For example, customer returns can use automated riders while rental returns use your own trained rider.

How this differs from delivery zones

Return transportation controls how a return travels back. The customer-facing local-delivery price and delivery area are configured separately for each inventory location under Additional delivery methods.

What happens on an order

When a return is requested, the order shows the actions allowed by its return kind, chosen rider mode, and current status. Approving a request starts the pickup flow. Rejecting a new customer return requires a short reason. When items reach the store, inspect them before deciding what to restock; refunding remains a separate action.

Simple example

Use an automated rider for ordinary customer returns, but use your own trained rider for expensive rental items. Enable the matching choice in each box.
