What this helps you do

Use this guide to add something you keep in stock and give or deliver to a customer. For example, you can add a kurta, bracelet, cake, or bottle of shampoo.

Before you start

  • Keep the product name, selling price, and at least one clear photo ready.
  • Decide how many pieces are available at each location.
  • Your staff role must allow you to manage products. If you cannot see Add product, ask the store owner to check your role.
  • A new product starts as Active and is selected for both Online Store and Point of Sale. Change these settings before saving if the product is not ready to sell.

Steps

  1. In the Upstorr admin, open Products.
  2. Select Add product.
  3. Enter the product name in Title. This is the only field that is always required.
  4. In Description, explain what the customer is buying. Include useful details such as material, size, colour, or care instructions.
  5. In Media, select Upload new to add a photo or video. You can also use Select existing to choose a file already saved in Upstorr.
  6. Keep Product kind set to Physical product.
  7. In Price, enter the amount before GST if the page says Prices are GST exclusive.
  8. If Charge tax is on, check the GST classification, HSN code, GST rate, and Unit Quantity Code. Upstorr will ask for an HSN code before saving a normal taxable product.
  9. In Inventory, keep Track quantity on and enter the number of pieces available at each location.
  10. Check Status. Choose Draft if you still need to finish the product. Keep Active only when it is ready.
  11. In Publishing, leave Online Store selected to show the product on your website. Leave Point of Sale selected to use it in POS billing. Clear either box if you do not want the product there.
  12. Select Save.

What happens next

The product is added to the Products page. An active product can be sold only through the sales channels selected under Publishing.

If you saved it as a draft, you can open it later, finish the details, change Status to Active, choose its sales channels, and save again.

Common problems

  • Save is grey: Enter a title and make sure you have changed at least one field.
  • Upstorr asks for an HSN code: Charge tax is on for a taxable product. Select or create the correct HSN code before saving.
  • Upstorr asks for an SKU, weight, or dimensions: Automated local delivery is on. Add an SKU and weight for every product or variant, then add the product width, height, and depth. You can also save the product as Draft until these details are ready.
  • You cannot add another product: Your current plan might have reached its product limit. The store owner can check the plan before trying again.
