What this helps you do
Represent a permanent shop or counter where your team sells through Upstorr POS.
Before you start
Create the matching Indian inventory location and the market whose products, prices, and currency should be used there.
Steps
- Open Point of Sale → Outlets.
- Select Add outlet.
- Choose the Inventory location that supplies stock for this outlet.
- Choose its Market.
- Keep Status Active when the outlet is ready to use.
- Choose whether checkout must collect the customer's email, phone, or address.
- Choose whether to Allow offline payments (cash, custom tenders).
- Select Save.
What every setting means
- Inventory location: the real Indian stock location linked to this outlet. Only Indian locations appear.
- Market: controls the selling setup used at this outlet, including the market's available products and prices.
- Status: Active makes the outlet available for POS use and counts towards the plan's active-outlet limit. Use Inactive when it should not be used for new work.
- Require email / phone / address: prevents checkout from finishing until the selected customer details are collected. Leave unnecessary requirements off to keep counter checkout fast.
- Allow offline payments: lets staff record cash and custom tender payments. It does not mean the device can safely ignore every internet requirement; it controls these payment choices.
What happens next
Create at least one register for the outlet, then assign and pair a POS device to that register.
Common problems
- Save is unavailable: choose both an inventory location and a market.
- No inventory locations appear: create an Indian inventory location, or ask for permission to view locations.
- A customer detail is suddenly required at checkout: check this outlet's Checkout requirements.
- Cash is unavailable: turn on offline payments for this outlet.
