What this means
Each coupon field answers one question about when and where a discount is allowed.
Title
The name staff see in Upstorr. For an automatic discount, this is also the offer name shown in the coupon summary.
Method
- Discount code: the customer enters the saved code in cart or checkout.
- Automatic discount: Upstorr checks matching carts without asking for a code.
Discount type
- Order discount: calculates the value using the eligible order subtotal and quantity.
- Product discount: calculates the value using only eligible products or collections.
Value type and Value
Percentage removes that percentage from the eligible value. Fixed amount removes a set rupee amount, but never more than the eligible amount.
Apply to and selected items
Choose Products or Collections, then select the exact targets. Product-discount minimums use only those eligible items. Order discounts still use the order subtotal for their calculation.
Customer eligibility
- All customers: no saved-customer restriction.
- Specific customer segments: a signed-in customer must belong to at least one selected segment.
- Specific customers: the saved customer must be one of the selected people.
Minimum purchase requirements
- No minimum requirements: no subtotal or quantity threshold.
- Minimum purchase amount: the applicable subtotal must reach the amount.
- Minimum quantity of items: the applicable item quantity must reach the number.
For product discounts, the minimum checks the selected products or collections. For order discounts, it checks the order.
Maximum discount uses
The total limit counts successful uses across all customers. Leaving it empty means no total limit. Limit to one use per customer checks a signed-in customer's earlier use of this coupon.
Start, end, and Enabled
The start time decides when the coupon can begin. The optional end must be later than the start. Clearing Enabled blocks the coupon even if its dates match.
Simple example
Create a 10% product coupon for the “Summer kurtas” collection, limited to customers in your “Repeat buyers” segment, with a minimum quantity of two. A customer buying only one eligible kurta receives nothing; two eligible kurtas can qualify.
What you need to know
- A coupon must pass every saved rule, not just one of them.
- A specific-customer coupon cannot work for an unidentified customer.
- Reaching the total usage limit stops further use even when Enabled is still selected.
- The preview summary describes the current form, so check it before saving.
