Storefront locales

Locale files under theme/locales/ contain shopper-facing translated text. The retail starter begins with en.default.json.

Use locales for words built into the theme, such as “Add to cart”, “Search” or an empty-state message. Merchant-authored content and product data should remain merchant data rather than being copied into locale files.

Keep keys stable, descriptive and grouped by feature. Avoid building sentences by joining several translated fragments because another language may use a different word order.

India is the operating country for Upstorr merchants. Locale changes may translate the shopper experience, but they do not change the platform's India-first GST, inventory-location or merchant-operation rules.
