Theme accessibility

Accessible themes work with keyboards, screen readers, touch, zoom and reduced motion.

Use semantic elements for their real jobs: links navigate, buttons perform actions, headings describe structure and labels name form controls. Every meaningful image needs useful alternative text; decorative images use an empty alternative.

Keep visible keyboard focus. Do not communicate selection, availability or errors using colour alone. Error messages should identify the field and explain what the shopper can do.

Dialogs and drawers must move focus inside when opened, support Escape when appropriate and return focus to the opening control when closed. Carousels need understandable controls and should not trap keyboard users.

Test at 200% zoom, with a keyboard, with reduced motion and at mobile width. Founder Mode colour controls must still produce readable contrast in the section design.
